While spending time at a wildlife refuge in California, Marvin meets Frasier, one of the older lions in the preserve who is known for his ongoing virility. When he is alone with Frasier one day, the lion begins to talk to Marvin in English. Eventually, the fact that Frasier can speak leaks out and Marvin tries to protect him from being commercially exploited.
