Plot summary
A terminally ill English teacher, Alfred Emerson (played by William Windom), fears a slow, painful death. In order to capitalize on the double indemnity clause in his life insurance policy, which would pay his family double the amount if his death was deemed an accident or murder, he blackmails a failing student named Peter into killing him.
The teacher threatens to fail the student, which would ruin Peter's chance of getting into college. This pressure forces Peter to go along with the deadly scheme.
