"Victims for Victims: The Theresa Saldana Story" is a 1984 TV movie based on the real-life attack on actress Theresa Saldana by a stalker in 1982. The film, in which Saldana plays herself, details the events leading up to the attack, her survival, recovery, and subsequent advocacy for victims' rights. 

Synopsis of "Victims for Victims: The Theresa Saldana Story":

  • The Attack:
  • In 1982, Theresa Saldana, a young actress, is stalked by Arthur Richard Jackson, a deranged fan from Scotland. He manages to get her address through her mother and travels to the U.S. with the intention of killing her. On March 15, 1982, Jackson attacks Saldana outside her apartment, stabbing her multiple times. 
  • The Rescue:
  • A deliveryman named Jeff Fenn intervenes and subdues Jackson, saving Saldana's life. Saldana undergoes emergency surgery and spends four months in the hospital recovering from her wounds. 
  • The Aftermath:
  • The film explores the physical and emotional trauma Saldana experiences after the attack, including depression, PTSD, and financial difficulties. It also shows her journey towards healing and her decision to become an advocate for other victims of violent crimes. 
  • Victims for Victims:
  • Saldana establishes the organization "Victims for Victims" to support and empower other survivors of violent crime. The film highlights her work with the organization and her efforts to raise awareness about victims' rights. 
  • The Stalker's Fate:
  • Arthur Jackson was arrested and charged with attempted murder. He served almost 14 years in prison for the assault and for making subsequent threats against Saldana and her rescuer. In 1996, he was extradited to the UK, where he was found not guilty by reason of diminished responsibility for a 1966 robbery and murder. He was committed to a psychiatric hospital and died of heart failure in 2004.



The true story of the brutal attack on actress Theresa Saldana by an unbalanced fan. As a result of her ordeal and its aftermath, Saldana becomes involved in the victims'

rights movement.
