"A Stranger Waits" is a 1987 TV movie thriller about a wealthy West Coast widow named Kate Bennington (Suzanne Pleshette) who becomes entangled in a dangerous relationship with a mysterious younger man, Mike Webber (Justin Deas), who becomes her live-in lover.

Plot Summary:
The story begins with the suspicious death of Kate's caretaker, a death that the local Sheriff Collier (Tom Atkins) isn't convinced was accidental. As Kate grapples with the loss of her husband, Mike appears at her door, quickly taking on the role of the new caretaker, despite warnings from Kate's chauffeur, Cooper (Paul Benjamin). The audience is privy to information that Kate isn't, revealing Mike's sinister intentions from the beginning. The plot thickens with further deaths and the arrival of Mike's "sister," escalating the suspense and leaving Kate in a precarious position.
