Plot summary
The film follows teenage babysitter Nancy Parks (Nancy McKeon), who grows suspicious that a young boy she watches, Brian Reynolds (Sean Astin), is being physically abused by his single mother, Barbara (Patty Duke).
As Nancy spends more time with Brian, she notices bruises on him. The boy eventually reveals that his mother hits him. While Duke's character is portrayed as struggling with her own rage, Nancy takes action to help Brian, ultimately leading to social services getting involved.
