The story, set in Harrington, a small New England town in 1900, follows the escapades of Pollyanna Harrington, a pretty 12-year-old orphan, now the ward of her aunt, who possesses the uncanny knack of bringing out the best in people. In the pilot episode, Pollyanna struggles to prove that Thomas Jenn, the simple-minded son of the widow Jenn, is not responsible for a series of mysterious happenings.
