The three main actors were nominated for Genie Awards, as was the director, Allan King. Originally, the movie was set to be called by the title theme, "Comes a Time" by country singer Lacy J. Dalton, but at the last minute was retitled. Even though it was a box office flop, a combination of the song winning an award and pay-TV service SelecTV picking it up 18 months later for its evening lineup, the film developed a cult following which remains to this day. Based on a True Story
