Plot summary
High-profile attorney Paul Danner (Gregory Harrison) is asked to take on the case of a teenager named Kenny Becker (Chris Young). Kenny has been charged with killing his abusive father, but his mother, Eliza (Maryann Plunkett), refuses to testify to save her son. This reluctance to speak out forces Danner to confront and unravel suppressed childhood trauma involving his own mother.
His involvement in the case forces Danner to come to terms with dark memories from his own past, which are shown through flashbacks. As he helps the teenage defendant face his past, Danner is also able to confront his own painful history.
