A happily married Manhattan parking garage owner, Eddie Madden (Edward Asner), begins an affair with a younger customer, Mercedes Cole (Meredith Baxter), who is facing relationship troubles. As the passionate romance deepens, Eddie must confront the growing crack in his marriage and the emotional cost to his family, including his son Denny (Paul Clemens).
