Story: A champion steeplechase horse named Brimstone is injured in an accident and subsequently sold at auction to an Amish minister, Jonathon Lansford, and his daughter, Barbara.

Plot: The Amish family hopes to heal Brimstone so he can be used as a work horse. However, Brimstone still retains his love for racing, which doesn't fit within the traditional Amish lifestyle.
