The film is a romance about a champion rodeo rider, Clay (Majors), who falls in love with Natalia (Wing), a Russian ballerina. When Natalia's dance company tours the U.S., she leaves the group to defect and reconnect with her mother, a Soviet exile living in New York. She hitches a ride with Clay, and the two travel together, learning about each other's very different worlds.
