Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery is a 1978 made-for-television drama film starring Louise Fletcher, Wayne Rogers, and Robert Reed. 


Synopsis

The movie explores a complex marital dilemma: after a tragic car accident leaves Jack Kimball (Robert Reed) paralyzed, he gives his wife, Sally (Louise Fletcher), permission to have an extramarital affair. Sally eventually develops a relationship with another man, Vic Tannehill (Wayne Rogers), but must grapple with the moral implications and emotional fallout of the arrangement.

Background

The film was originally intended as the first in a series of contemporary portrayals of the Ten Commandments for NBC. The project was abandoned after the second installment, Thou Shalt Not Kill, was released in 1982.
